Every great thing has a very humble beginning. Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School had a very humble beginning in 1964, when Mrs. Malathy Panicker & Mr. K.P.G. Panicker had a vision from our Lady of Health, Vailankanni to serve the cause of education in our Lady's name. A small school in the name of Shrine Vailankanni School with 17 students and 3 staff members was started in a thatched roof at No. 17, Venkatanarayana Road. In a decade, the school grew by leaps and bounds and catered to the educational needs of both the rich and the poor alike. The school moved to its present location at the heart of T. Nagar in the year 1974.
A decade of untiring service and sincere work took its toll on Mr. K.P.G.Panicker whom everybody lovingly called as Uncle. In the year 1977,the first batch of X Standard students took their CBSE examination and came out with flying colours producing 100% results. So is the case with every XII Standard batch since. Ever since it has been a never ending success story under the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Malathy Panicker and then Secretary and present Chairperson Mrs.B.K.K.Pillai.
We celebrated our Golden Jubilee in 2014 and we look forward to achieve and aim for the stars under the able guidance of our Chairperson, Mrs.B.K.K.Pillai and her son and Secretary, Mr.K.T.Pillai.
