Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School & SV Global hosted the Indo-Sri Lankan Exchange Summit on Friday, 8th of November 2019. The Summit focussed on "Best Practices", sharing sessions and presentations among Sri Lankan Delegates.
School Leaders selected by Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka and Indian EduLeaders selected by CED Foundation Trust, India attended the Summit in our campus. The celebration involved teachers and students of both CBSE & Cambridge International Schools for a collaborative learning and sharing.
Why is this Summit significant?
Significance arises out of the very objective behind this Summit which is sharing of knowledge among the commmunity of educators, globally. There is no single definition for success, it manifests as a combination of trial and error and learning from experinces, that paves the path towrads growth.
This Summit aimed at Sharing of Best Practices that would be benficial for the guests in defining that growth and customising it to their needs.
What best practices were shared?
1. Innovative best practice in establishing emotional wellness as a school culture.
Rewarding students through bonding with Pets at school.
2. Innovative best practice in school curriculum.
Establishing a balanced time-table, accomodating academic learning with complimenting special sessions in a ratio of 60:40, made available for all students within the stipulated time on any given day.
3. Innovative class room practices
Differentiating the task or procedure to enable maximum output form students.
Key take-aways for the guests
Some of the key take-aways were:
1. Immediate implementation of class bound activites for enhancing student learning.
2. Measures that will foster a postive reinforcement of values through immeasurable qualitative rewards.
3. Connecting course content with application based learning.
4. Minor deviations and trivial practices that add major values to schooling years.
