In order to understand the importance of community helpers in our lives, our KG students went on a field trip to Guindy Fire Station on Friday, 22 November 2019.
The officer in-charge was kind enough to engage the tiny tots by explaining all about his Fire Station. Contact Numbers such as Emergency Number – 101 and putting off the fire by covering the area with a blanket for electrical fire accident or putting sand over the affected area was explained the children.
Besides this, the children saw different trucks used by firefighters like Foam Tender trucks and Emergency Rescue Tender (ERT). Lastly, children were made to visit vehicles used by fire fighters used during the state of emergency.
The children were not only excited but also eager to learn and understood the importance of fire fighters and the danger faced by them during rescue operations.
